A holiday for 22.7 million children
Turkey has a special children's holiday, which is celebrated annually on April 23 - the day of the first convocation of the Grand National Assembly (parliament) in 1920 in Ankara. In this regard, this day is also the Day of National Sovereignty of Turkey.
Traditionally, on this day, children from all over the country hold school marches and parades, as well as visit the Mausoleum of the founder of the Republic of Turkey - Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and lay flowers in memory of the greatest statesman of modern Turkey. However, the coronavirus has been making its own adjustments on this bright day for the second year already.
