Erdoğan announced the second stage of 'normalization'

In Ankara on Monday, May 31, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosted a meeting of the Turkish Cabinet of Ministers.

During the meeting, the lifting of the restriction measures from June 1 was discussed. Then President Erdoğan issued a traditional address to the nation, announcing the following decisions:

  • Curfew on weekdays and Saturdays from 22:00 pm to 05:00 am until the end of June

  • In July, curfew conditions will be revised according to changes in infection rates and vaccination process

  • Eateries will be able to accept cuctomers from 07:00 to 21:00 and work on delivery until 24:00; on Sunday - home delivery only

  • Coffee shops, cafes, playgrounds, gyms and amusement parks will be open from 07:00 to 21:00, except Sunday

  • The academic year of Turkish universities for the 2021-2022 academic year starts on September 13

  • Engagement and wedding ceremonies in indoor and outdoor venues are permitted from June 1st, according to certain conditions.
