Export to Russia: now by rail
On February 9, Kaluga hosted a welcoming ceremony for the first freight train that departed from Turkey on January 29 by the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway.
The train, consisting of 15 containers, transported household appliances (gas stoves and dishwashers). The train departed from the Turkish station Marşandiz (Ankara) to Vorsino (Kaluga region), the destination station in Russia. The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Turkey in Russia Mehmet Samsar, who noted that Ankara and Moscow are determined to bring trade turnover to $ 100 billion, which is the goal set by Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Vladimir Putin.
