Orient Express comes back
The Turkish Railways Authority (TCDD) has launched tours on the country's longest route - Ankara-Kars, called the Doğu Ekspresi, from 12 July. The route, popular among local travelers and foreign tourists, has been closed since March 28, 2020 due to the measures against coronavirus and is back on track 15 months later. The Orient Express railway line starts from the capital and goes through the Turkish provinces of Kırıkkale, Kayseri, Sivas, Erzincan and Erzurum to Kars. The renewed train departs along one of the oldest railway routes once a day.
