On February 18, Alanya celebrated the 88th anniversary of Atatürk's visit to the city.
On February 18, 1935, the first president of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, visited Alanya. In honor of the 88th anniversary of his arrival, a wreath-laying ceremony was held in front of the monument to Atatürk in Iskele.
The celebration was attended by the head of the district Fatih Ürkmezer, the mayor of Alanya Adem Murat Yücel, representatives of political parties, members of the protocol, and city residents.
Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel delivered a speech about the meaning and significance of this day:
“...Today, with anguish and gratitude, I commemorate the Great Leader Atatürk, the veterans, and martyrs who visited our Alanya on February 18, 1935. May their souls rest in peace.”
2. Infrastructure of Alanya
The municipality of Alanya continues to work on improving roads and infrastructure.
Asphalt renovation works that started in the city center have now reached the Bektas area.
The municipality of Alanya continues to provide city residents with comfortable roads, laying new asphalt instead of the old one. Work on improving the infrastructure continues without interruption.
Mayor Yücel: “We are completely renovating the road on the Bektas Plateau, one of the busiest transport arteries in Alanya.”
For the changes in the city, the Mayor of Alanya Adem Murat Yücel received great appreciation from the city residents.
In Oba and Kestel, where new roads and houses are being built, infrastructure work is also ongoing. On Tosunlar Street in the Oba district, a storm drainage system with thousands of pipes is being installed. A 30-meter construction road is being laid in the Kestel area.

The municipality of Alanya has begun to improve one of the main places for tourists - the İskele-Rıhtım Caddesi promenade. İskele-Rıhtım is one of the most popular streets among tourists. Thanks to renovation work such as replacing old tiles and improving the landscape, it now has a completely new look. Summer cafes are being rebuilt on the beaches. Currently, Alanya looks amazing and is ready to welcome tourists in the 2023 season.
