Turkey's new travel brand — Mesopotamia
The Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy spoke at a ceremony at the Şanlıurfa Archaeological Museum and presented to the public a new tourist project Mesopotamia, which will cover 9 provinces in the southeast of the country. This new touristic brand will unite the provinces of Adıyaman, Batman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Kilis, Mardin, Siirt, Şanlıurfa and Şirnak (GAP — the project of South-Eastern Anatolia). The Tourism Promotion and Development Agency will carry out global business projects and partnerships for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey in order to promote the brand worldwide. The aim of the project is to develop natural, cultural, religious, gastronomic, as well as ecological and thermal tourism in the region.
