Utility bills, services and maintenance of houses and residential complexes
Utility bills (called 'aidat' in Turkey) depend on the residential complex itself and its infrastructure. The richer infrastructure is (the presence of a sauna, a hammam or an indoor pool, etc.), the higher is aidat. Therefore, when buying real estate, one should be interested in how much the aidat will cost. The plus is that the amount of aidat does not depend on the number of people living in your apartment, it costs the same for all apartments in the complex. Even if your apartment is owned by 10 people, nothing changes.
Aidat payment includes maintenance of your house and complex such as cleaning the territory, maintaining the lawn and garden, repairing the entrance, the roof and the buildings, painting the buildings' exterior, taking care of the pool, etc. Moreover, the contract for such services is concluded by the residents themselves at the general meeting. If you are not happy with the services you receive, you can easily change the maintenance company at the general annual or special meeting of apartment owners. Since there is a lot of competition in this field, everyone is trying to do their job efficiently.
Other services such as water and electricity supply are paid exclusively for meters that are installed immediately during the construction outside your apartment, house or villa. Replacing the meters is also carried out by representatives of these companies and at the expense of these companies, you will not be charged at all. You may not even notice when they were replaced, everything will happen very quietly, neatly and without cheating. A ready-made receipt of payment will be left every month near your door or near your counters. Payment can be made not only in these companies, but in any other place - a post office, a bank branch (no commission), special service centers and even in a regular grocery store.
