Russia has suspended air traffic with Turkey until June 1

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova on Monday evening announced the restriction of regular and charter flights with Turkey from April 15 to June 1 to prevent the import of new coronavirus infection.

"We have decided to restrict regular and charter flights from Russian international airports to the airports of the Republic of Turkey and in the opposite direction from April 15 this year to June 1 this year. Except for the directions necessary for the participation of the joint-stock company "Concern Titan-2" in the construction of a nuclear power plant, the export of Russian citizens who are on vacation in the territory of the Republic of Turkey, as well as the maintenance of two flights a week on a mutual basis: Moscow — Istanbul, Istanbul — Moscow," Golikova said. The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that air traffic with the Republic of Turkey can be resumed before the appointed date if the situation with the coronavirus in this country stabilizes.
