Turkey's Information Technology and Communications Authority have made concessions to foreign citizens who use their imported phones due to the coronavirus pandemic and border closures.
The Turkish government gazette Resmi Gazete has issued an updated decree on increasing the period of use of an unregistered mobile phone IMEI number from 120 to 365 days. Starting from the moment of entry into the country, the IMEI of foreign phones are included in the" gray list " and such devices can be used for a year. After the end of this period, the IMEI is placed on the "blacklist" and the use of such phones is impossible (except for calling the emergency service 112).
